Monkey Pox is a zoonotic viral disease (disease that occurs in both animal and human). This disease is caused by a virus from the genus orthopox virus. It comes with several symptoms such as; muscle aches, headaches, cough, chill etc.
How is monkey Pox Transmitted?
- Having contact with infected animals such as; crab-eating macaque, Gambian pouched rats, African squirrel, dormice, and African rodents.
- Through a bite from an infected animal
- Through close contact with the body fluid of infected animal

What Are The Sign and Symptoms of Monkey Pox?
At early stage;
Monkey pox at early stage may resemble measles, chicken Pox or even small Pox, but it's distinguish by the presence of swollen glands.
What Are The Types of Money Pox
They're two known types of this disease
- The milder West African clade
- The Congo basin Clade
Can Monkey Pox be Cured?
Currently there is no known cure, but it can be prevented and treated.
Preventions of Monkey Pox
- Subsequent hand washing
- Vaccination (small Pox vaccine)
- Staying away from certain animals, from their bite, scratches and body fluids (especially the above mentioned animals)
- Staying away from sick people ( i.e. from their breath, and body fluids)

Yes. Typically monkey is not a disease of human, but it can be transmitted through close contact with infected animals, and infected human(especially from skin lesions, and body fluids)
